Cincinnati & Houston
There are four major league ballparks that I still haven't been to: Great American (Cincinnati), Minute Maid (Houston), Petco (San Diego), and RFK (Washington, D.C.).
Cincinnati and Houston are relatively close to each other, so I plan to visit them both on the same trip. That trip needs to happen this year.
I was just looking at the Reds' and Astros' schedules. There aren't too many dates when both teams are home, so I pretty much have to go with the middle of August.
Here's my very very very tentative plan:
August 15th and 16th in Cincinnati for the Giants. (Yuck...I hope Barry is still on the shelf or else the place is gonna be packed. I'm not going to see exciting baseball. I'm going to see a new ballpark, catch many many balls, have an endless supply of empty seats from which to choose, and not get hassled.)
August 17th and 18th in Houston for the Cubs and Brewers. (Yay...I prefer to see two different teams in two days. Break it up a little bit, you know? Also, if I see the same team two days in a row, some of the players WILL remember me. That's a bad thing. It means I won't get balls from them. Too bad I won't see two different teams in Cincy, but that's just how it works out.)
Now all I have to do is get the time off from work and find out if the airline tickets are reasonably priced.
Speaking of work...gotta run.
Tomorrow = Shea.
