Opening Day 2006! It's good to be back!

Unfortunately, the Orioles were not using special opening day balls to warm up with... I did manage to snag three regular balls though...

The gates were already open when I got to the park at 12:10 (gametime was 3:05), but I was still one of the first of 46,986 fans to get in.

I saw a cool "glove trick." It was actually a "cup trick." The kid had a ball thrown low to him into the area inbetween the seats and the wall. He had a cup with some tape on the inside attached to the end of a string... lowered it on the ball... raised it up. Pretty cool. The kid then got another ball and gave it to a crying 5 year old kid.

Sweet.

Congrats on your three snags and your early-season lead. You'll definitely hold the lead for at least a few more days and possibly even a couple of weeks. At this point, I have no idea when I'll be heading out to Shea. I've seen far more cup tricks than glove tricks.

well, i got into safeco less then a minute after the gates open. I ran down to the right field seats, took a spot about 20 feet away from the foul pole. I put my glove on, 1 bp hr sailed way over my head. Pretty disappointed, next one came. Way over my head again. So ive been in the stadium for about 1 minute when an unknown mariner hits a hard line drive. It bends to my right, i take off for it, reach over the railing to my right and snag it. Sadly the stadium quickly began to fill, and well, theres no chance decked out in mariners gear to get vladdy, estaban yan or tim salmon to throw a ball back.

game definatly got interesting after the jojima hr, and the reed gr double. May i mention i hate JJ putz. Anyways, i plan around 20 this year so there is definatly more chances ahead.

Congrats on not getting shut out on a sold out Opening Day. I don't hate Putz. He was nice to me last year at Yankee Stadium. Good luck to you, too, and keep the updates coming...
