quick heads-up
Just wanted to give a quick heads-up so you don't miss it...
If all goes according to plan, there'll be an article about me this Sunday (Sept. 10) in the sports section of The New York Times. The writer's name is Vincent M. Mallozzi, and his column is called "Box Seats: Cheering Section."
Later today (it's 5:39am right now), I'm going to be filmed for a segment on the NY Times web site. And then I'll be heading out to Shea to see the Dodgers, possibly with the camera man. Not exactly sure what's happening, but I'll be blogging about it tomorrow.

SOunds sweet, guess whos 1st!

Any chance I'll see you on a weekend, Yankee or Shea this year?

Thanks for the Fenway tips. So to get to the corner spot down the left field line, which gate is is the best? On the Fenway map, I see that the two closest entrances are Gates A and E. From which one is it easiest to get to that spot?
Oh, and what should I do before the gates open? I was thinking of going out onto the street behind the Green Monster until the gates open to try to snag a home run or two. It seems like it shouldn't be too hard: I did some research and found that directly behind straightaway left field, the street is only 350 feet away from home plate. And there will be about half an hour of BP before the gates open, so there should be plenty of time. Do you think it's worth it, or is there something better to do snagging-wise before the 5:00? I can't see any other ways of catching a ball outside the stadium.

Nice Zack! Btw, is Jhonny Peralta nice? Because, I asked him for a ball the other day, he looked at me and threw it back. Also, did you see the kid Anibal Sanchez? Great stuff, huh?

Fun! Ack--I almost went tonight. Rob's there, but I had an event to attend. Man, it's a good time to be a Mets fan.

Oh, one more Fenway question. Are there any good spots to use a ball retrieving device? Like open crevices or ditches (like at Shea)?

JIMMY-
Thanks. First...as in...first comment?
CHUCKSTER-
No chance.

I've only been to Fenway three times in my life, so I'm really not too familiar with it. I've used GATE A, but I'm not sure if that's the best one. Good idea to hang out on the street before Fenway opens...EXCEPT...you won't be first in line at the gate unless someone's holding your spot. I've used my glove trick along the LF foul line. Nothing fancy about it. Maybe you could fish balls out of the bullpens in right field? I don't know. I've never been in right field for BP at Fenway. Wish I could tell you more.
DANNY-
Thank you. Peralta once tossed me a ball, but he wasn't extra nice about it or anything. Just a straight-forward "Here ya go..." And that's been my only contact with the guy. I've only seen brief highlights of Anibal's no-no; I was out that night until 1am.
BERGIN-
Now now, be nice to the idiot friend. I feel your pain, though. Arriving late is the worst. At least you got a ball, and c'mon, you have to be THRILLED about Lasorda.
LOGAN-
Yoo kray-zee. I'll definitely try to provide those links...
ZOE-
Fun. Yes...as long as the piece contains at least a few nice things about me. The Mets looked SHARP last night. Yow.

Zack, I was so mad when I saw hoe Nomar signed my photo...ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!! Oh, well...I erased it and I'll have him sign it again today. I got a chance to talk with Derek Lowe also last night - I'm not sure if I told you what I did for Mark Bellhorn when he came into town, but I'm hooking up Lowe tonight...I'll let you know how it goes!

Not a bad class that lets you browse the internet. I could've used more like that. Maybe I wouldn't have hated school so much. I'm just about to start writing up last night's game...got a slow start because of everything else that's been going on lately. I should have the entry ready sometime this evening.
EVAN-
You're that confident that you can get Nomar again? I haven't heard the Bellhorn story. Do tell.

Ok cool. I've got that problem taken care of. My dad will be with me so that shouldn't be an issue. Thanks for all your help. I feel like I've been to the stadium and know exactly what to do thanks to you. I can't wait to get there!

Hey Zack nah I wish the class was all about browsing free internet. It is only the first day of this class so she got us to create a folder for it cause we make websites and learn html codes in it. Just a new class this year so we got to check out our brand new dell computer worth quite a bit of money. We got 36 new Pcs and Keyboards so should be fun. I am guessing your finishing it up as I type this and I can't wait to get to it man so hurry up. Oh and we finished a game tonight against the best team in the league (well second best but the first 2 teams are practically the same bestest). Score was 14-11 for them but we made a SWEET rally with a 3 homer bottom of the 7th to get us 7 runs to get into it but not enough to finish the 7th to win. Unfortunatly I didn't manage to get a jack but tommorow I am promising everyone I know one. So should be interesting. The reason there was so many cause the field is a peewee sized field which is about 235 feet dead center. Cool eh.

Oh zack If your at a game when shawn green homers run to the dugout. After every homer he hits he tosses his batting gloves into the crowd.

I'd be embarrassed to hit a ball over a 235-foot wall. This would be a good time for you to work on your bunting.
ZACH-
That's a great piece of advice about Green. I had no idea. Thanks!
