Yesterday's New York Times

Yesterday my publisher ran a small ad for my book in the sports section of The New York Times. Check it out...

Nothing fancy. Just a little sumpin'-sumpin' to catch a few eyes and hopefully sell a few copies. Look for a few more ads to run during the playoffs.

Very nice Zack. It's always tough with ads though, to figure out exactly how many new purchases you received because of the ad, you know? Any idea what the average age of readers of your 2 books is? I would've thought a younger newspaper would've been better, but I guess that's why I'm not in publishing!

GO RED SOX!

zack,
thats pretty cool being in the paper. are you goin to write another until april? on what? im pretty much going through withdrawal i wanna be at a game especially bp...april is so far away..

btw puck collector i just emailed you...

hmm I like it. It's easily noticed, and gets the reader's interest.

Nah the New York Times is a good newspaper to run it in... my mom read the book and loved it, so it appeals to all ages.

what's the ad say?

PSU532-
Yeah, believe me, I know. I have no idea what the average age is, but if I had to guess, I'd say about 13 for the first book and 33 for the new one.

Am I gonna write another what? Another book? Not sure yet. I'm missing BP too.

CUBS0110-

Cool. Glad you think so. (I didn't design the ad, BTW.)

NICK-

Awesome. I think I knew that about your mom, but it's good to hear again.

You can't read it? Did you click the photo to make it bigger? It says:

What's the difference between an at-bat and a plate appearance?

ADDENDUM:
I'm thoroughly annoyed with Buck and McCarver. How DARE they give the trivia question and then immediately start making guesses?! They're not the only announcers who do this, but still, I'm disgusted, and my TV is now on mute. And by the way, Tim, it's pronounced "CAR-MO-NUH."

Yeah, pretty lame.

Who are you rooting for tonight? I'm for the Indians, I guess.

Red Sox all the way tonight. Beckett was really nice to me when he was with the Marlins, and of course I've always been a BIG Manny fan, so it's great to see both of these guys doing well.

Zack--

What kind of stuff you doing in the offseason?

I miss going to games.

Chris

he couldn't read it...or he didn't read it?

?

CHRIS-
I miss it too. I'll be spending more time with friends and family. Meeting more often with my writing group. Working more at the Argosy Book Store. Obsessing more over my music collection. Exercising more. Looking for a bigger apartment, perhaps...and possibly starting work on a new book.

TSWECHTENBERG-

Hoo noze.

Who's the person with the blog about the Islanders who graphs at Nassau Coliseum? If you don't mind, I have a few questions for you, and would really appreciate it if you could send me and email.

I didn't notice the picture.

CHUCKSTER-
Did you ever hear from that person? If not, feel free to post the comment again on my new entry.

CARL444-

Ahh, no worries.
